Olivia Serrill is an artist based in Portland, Oregon. While studying graphic design at Portland State University, Olivia began her art practice in the realm of abstraction—an art expression she continues to explore to this day. Out of a desire to see what a satellite image would look like if it were painted, in August of 2021, she created her first “map” in her abstract style—employing a loose, impasto technique with oils. As an avid world traveler, Olivia translates and exaggerates the colors and patterns of nature and architecture in her pieces to convey a distinct sense of place.
