The idea for Grace-filled Welcomes came to Jeong after seeing a photo in a Blanchet House newsletter of a staff member stooping down to help a guest with new shoes. The image touched her heart and reminded her of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. Through this work, she wanted to convey the openness of our hearts to be both compassionate and vulnerable, reflecting the importance of being present in and sharing the same safe space.
About the Artist
Since retiring from her career as a web designer, Jeong Ahn has transitioned into being a full-time grandmother. As busy as she is, Jeong still loves making art whenever she can find a moment to herself.
