Blanchet House On the Ledge Art Show 2026
Presented by Blanchet House’s Emerging Leaders Board, On the Ledge serves the dual purpose of celebrating artists while raising funds to support Blanchet House's services for individuals facing homelessness, hunger, addiction, and mental health challenges.
Artists from a variety of mediums are invited to submit original or existing works for the 2026 show which will run in August.
Submissions will be accepted until May 31, 2026.
Theme: Open Doors, Open Hearts
Artwork will reflect the transformative power of compassion — the simple yet profound act of lending a helping hand to someone who needs it most. By choosing openness over indifference, we’re reminded that even the simplest act of kindness can unlock something far greater within ourselves and our communities.
Consider these prompts to inspire your submission:
What does it look like to be welcoming or welcomed?
How would you illustrate belonging?
What visual elements suggest comfort or refuge?
How would you portray compassion?
How would you explore contrast as an expression of vulnerability?
Where do you see open doors or open hearts in everyday life?
Submission Guidelines
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel and selected based on their ability to fit within the theme.
We accept all mediums that can be reproduced as 11”x14” giclee prints and 4”x6” postcards.
For the first time, we are also excited to expand submissions to other mediums of art such as ceramics, sculptures, and textiles/fiber arts.
If you are creating a physical piece and wish to sell the original work through the art show site, please indicate that in the submission form.
We cannot offer artists compensation for materials and labor.
Blanchet House welcomes all artwork but reserves the right to refuse submissions that do not align with its mission.
How Artwork Will be Displayed and Sold
For digital art and original paintings Blanchet House will produce, display, and ship high-quality 11”x14” giclee prints and 4”x6” postcards of the original artwork. We are exploring other mediums such as puzzles and calendars for print art as well.
Art must be submitted via form or email as a digital asset (.jpeg or .eps preferred) for high-quality reproduction as a giclee print.
Each print will be priced at an accessible $50 to attract a wide audience. Postcards will be available at a lower price tier. Revenue from digital print, postcard, and product sales will be split 50/50 between Blanchet House and the artist.
Original art works including paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and textiles/fiber arts can be sold at a price set by the artist. Blanchet House is offering a 70/30 split on sales of original artwork, favoring the artist.
Paintings and digital art originals must also be submitted digitally for high-quality reproduction as a giclee print.
All art will be featured in an online gallery at bhontheledge.com with originals and prints on display and for sale at the Opening Reception.
